Comparing integration options
Today, TrueLayer supports three direct integration options for our payments products and features (all via Payments API V3).
Direct integration options
- Direct API integration with Payments API V3
- Hosted Payment Page (via V3)
- Mobile SDKs (via V3)
Integration options:
|
Direct API integration with Payments API V3:
Pros:
- Single integration — access all Payments products and features across the UK and Europe through one API (including Payments, Payouts and VRP)
- Customisable user experience — put your brand front and centre
Cons:
- Requires more developer resources
- Integration takes longer than with HPP or SDK short-cuts
|
Hosted Payment Page (via V3):
Pros:
- Shorter integration time compared to a direct API integration. You will still need to do some backend integration work via v3, but the HPP provides a short-cut as most of the integration work is done
- Low appetite for complex integrations
- Pre-built UI for web that is optimised for conversion
- Always up to date — automatically updated to support new geographies, features and regulatory changes
- Pre-built QR code authentication ability (authenticate desktop payments via mobile)
- Built-in localisation — country-specific authentication flows
Cons:
- Less flexibility around UI design and capabilities compared to direct API integration
- For Pay-ins only (not Payouts)
|
Mobile SDKs (via V3):
Pros:
- Shorter integration time compared to a direct API integration. You will still need to do some backend integration work via v3, but the mobile SDKs provide a short-cut as most of the integration work is done
- Low appetite for complex integrations
- Pre-built UI for mobile (iOS and Android)
- Always up to date — Regularly updated to support new geographies, features and regulatory changes
- Built-in localisation — Country-specific authentication flows
Cons:
- Less flexibility around UI design and capabilities compared to direct API integration
- For Pay-ins only (not Payouts)
