We have introduced a new and improved Team Management system to Console. As part of this, we have reworked the way we model your Console account and introduced the concept of organisations. This is the first step that will allow us to release a whole host of features in Console in the future that do not exist today. To enable you to benefit from these features, we have migrated customers from our current model to the new organisation structure, this migration has completed in June 2023.
What are the benefits of the migration?
The migration has brought several benefits, which are all available immediately, including:
- Improved user management - Our new system will support multiple administrators, allowing for more efficient management of the Console.
- Multi-Organisations - Users will be able to belong to multiple organisations.
- Enhanced security through Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) - This will help ensure that only authorised users have access to specific resources and functions within the Console. The roles we will have initially are Admin, Developer & View Only. Click here to learn more about what actions these roles can take.
How might this migration affect you?
Once you have been successfully migrated, your Console experience will benefit from the new aforementioned features, but it will not induce any major changes. We would like to highlight that this migration has not impacted any integrations you have with our API products.
The only impact it will have is on your Console account. Some application members may lose access to sandbox applications. This is because we are modifying applications so team members have access to both the Live and Sandbox environments.
If a member only has access to the Sandbox environment, they will be removed from the application before the migration to prevent them from having access to the live environment. As an admin, you can always invite them back to the application after the migration.
Below is a table to illustrate how the migration will affect user access:
Had live access? | Had sandbox access? | New Access |
---|---|---|
✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
✅ | ❌ | ✅ |
❌ | ✅ | ❌ |
❌ | ❌ | ❌ |
What do you need to do?
There is absolutely nothing that needs to be done on your side to enable the migration. This has been done automatically. We would however advise that you inform your team members of the migration so that they are aware.
